Based near Lake Coniston, Bracken Ground is a 5 star self catering holiday home, ideally located for sailing, cycling, hiking and sight seeing. For the more adventurous there are several other options close by such as Bigland Outdoor and River Deep Mountain High, where you can tackle quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, abseiling, ghyll scrambling and much, much more.
For owner Dominic Doig and Estates Manager Chris White, Bracken Ground has been a labour of love. The pair began an extensive refurbishment project in October 2010, which saw this secluded holiday home transformed into a 5 star luxury retreat. Dominic’s wife, Kerry, finished off the project by pulling together a tranquil and contemporary interior, which truly provides an ideal venue for a family or group of up to 10 persons, celebrating a special occasion or looking for somewhere unique to base themselves for exploring the Lake District.
Bracken Ground occupies a charming secluded position set within approximately seven acres of grounds – including woodland, grassed areas, a large wildlife pond and meandering stream. Although a modern and luxurious property, Bracken Ground is also a natural retreat, much of which has been left as unspoilt as possible to encourage wild life. During your stay you will no doubt catch sight of an abundance of wildlife, including buzzards, bats, badgers, deer, rabbits, owls and foxes. The pond also hosts an extensive variety of wildlife.
